Information for Supervisors

The University of Arizona (UA) is committed to creating a work environment that is safe, inclusive, and free of discrimination and harassment. UA’s Nondiscrimination and Anti-harassment Policy prohibits discrimination on the basis of:

If you supervise employees, contractors, agents or students, teach or advise students, or have management authority over a UA-sponsored program or activity, you have certain responsibilities under this policy. These responsibilities include:

  • Promptly notifying the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) if you are informed of or have a reasonable basis to suspect someone has violated the UA’s Nondiscrimination and Anti-harassment Policy;
  • Promptly notifying the Dean of Students Office if the alleged policy violater and the person who is the subject of the conduct are students; and
  • Engaging in appropriate measures to prevent violations of this policy.

You can file a formal complaint of discrimination with OIE within 180 days of the most recent incident of discrimination, in accordance with our Procedures. You can also contact the anonymously if you would like to receive information or ask questions.
